COMMUNITY: Belmar, a small residential community, rests among a marina, lakes, and the ocean in central New Jersey. While supporting modest industry year-round, summer tourism increases its population of 10,000 to approximately 50,000. The high school campus includes the Church, Parish Center, convent, and elementary school. The Edward I. Brown Athletic Complex covers 30+ acres in nearby Wall Township.
SCHOOL CHARACTERISTICS: The St. Rose High School student population for the year 2016-2017 stands at approximately 500. The total enrollment reflects students from 40 sending districts from Monmouth and Ocean Counties. St. Rose High School boasts an International Student program with 16 students from China or Korea. Students arrive by foot, bus, train, and automobile. St. Rose offers college prep, college prep accelerated, honors, and Advanced Placement courses.
CLASSES: The school year is divided into two semesters. Most courses are full year; however, upper class students may choose among semester electives in religion, English, mathematics, science, social studies, fine and performing arts. Upon completion of a full year course, a student earns 5 high school credits for classes meeting 5 days a week; and 6 for lab sciences. Semester courses receive half as many credits. Students register for 7 courses each semester.
SCHOLARSHIPS AND GRANTS: The Class of 2016 earned $20.98 million in scholarships and grants.
